Hoss
Zaré has always tried creating a personable and comfortable experience
for the diners at his restaurant. It is hard to believe but he knows
virtually everyone who walks through doors of Zaré. He thinks of the
customers as guests at his house rather than clients at his restaurants.
It is a strong sentiment that many customers respond to and appreciate.
This prompted Hoss to do something that he has been thinking of doing
for some time. Chateau Zare.
Hoss has opened the doors to his home and to his own kitchen
in order to provide a first hand experience for his diners.
The concept here
is very simple:
Individuals and
groups (as many as 18 at a time) will be able to make
arrangements with him for an evening where there will be
four courses served.
Each course proceeding
with a demonstration by Hoss, and followed by a complete sit-down
dinner.
Each course will accompany a different wine, introduced
by a winery representative.
Diners will have the opportunity to walk around the
house in between courses, enjoy their wine on the
balcony overlooking a spectacular view of the city, or
walk around in a cozy garden.
This is a simple extension of Hoss’s background, which
consisted of often lavish yet homey dinners around the family table. It
is also a welcome change from the impersonal experience many have at
very high-quality restaurants right here in San Francisco. While diners
will be able to book a reservation for as many as 18 people for the home
dining experience, there is also the opportunity to dine in smaller
groups on Monday evenings, joining other small groups of diners for an
intimate and personal dining experience.
